I was born and raised in Oxfordshire, England, but moved to the East Bay with my family in 2002. Art has been my passion and hobby from a very young age and I have produced works in various mediums - from fine painting and drawing to ceramics and metalwork. However after completing my first mosaic project 3 years ago, I realised I had found my niche. A year after making mosaics for myself I began to exhibit my work and take commissions.
I love mosaics because of their organic nature - they continue to evolve as I am making them so the designs are never static. The result is that every mosaic is unique and a beautiful work of art that can be used around the home and garden. I am drawn to including natural materials in my work to complement the hand-rolled stained glass I predominantly use. I'm also influenced by the style of the great artists of the 20th century especially Klimt, Gaudi and the great impressionists.
